This is an article that Bonnie Friedman (AKA The Hospital Warrior) and I wrote last summer.  It was published on KevinMD.com, a widely read website aimed at medical professionals.   Although the principles of advocacy in the hospital remain the same, this article was written prior to the Covid-19 pandemic.  We have recently addressed the issue of advocacy when family visitation is not allowed, again on KevinMD.com and posted on my blog.

Who should advocate for older patients in the hospital?
